Information on George W. Guth

George W. Guth was my great grandfather (1862-1939). He had a couple of different occupations. In his younger years, he was a hatter and worked at a hat factory. In his later years, he worked for the railroad.

From this info, we can tell that he worked at a hat factory in Orange, NJ. From other directories, we know he lived in Brooklyn in 1890, when he became a father to my grandfather, George Robert Guth.

  From this I also see a mix up. George W. Guth would not be 54 years old here, and his father was from Germany, so perhaps this is referring to his father (J. Georg Gut)? If so, then J. Georg Gut was probably born in or around 1826. Thank God for clues.
